Rise In STEM’s Team is seeking a creative, self-motivated, organized Social Media Coordinator to support us elevate our online presence. You will be responsible for content creation, scheduling, engagement, and reporting across our social media and communication platforms. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, deeply familiar with social media, and brings fresh, creative ideas to capturing and communicating the impact of our work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and lead social media strategy for program activities, providing guidance and support to ensure consistent, high-quality content creation
Create engaging and visually appealing social media content (graphics, short videos, captions)
Schedule and publish posts on platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, and Tik Tok
Monitor engagement and respond to comments and DMs in a timely, professional manner
Track performance metrics and help optimize content strategy based on insights
Curate and contribute to a monthly newsletter to share program updates, events, and highlights
Supporting the design of digital and print materials related to projects, including presentations, infographics, videos, and program documentation, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 1 year of experience working in communications, marketing, and related fields
Strong understanding of social media channels and trends within youth, community, and nonprofit spaces
Proficiency in Canva or Adobe tools, and scheduling platforms (e.g., Hootsuite)
Excellent interpersonal, written communication and visual storytelling skills
Organized, proactive, and reliable with the ability to manage deadlines
Strong competency with Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe suite
Experience in web development and video editing is an asset
WAGE + COMMITMENT
Wage: $22-24/hr
Hours: 10-15 hours/biweekly
Length: 6-month contract (with possibility of extension)
Location: Hybrid (majority of in-person activities will be in Etobicoke)
