Rise In STEM is seeking a creative, organized, and self-motivated Social Media Assistant (Student Contract - 4-months) to support our online presence. You will assist with content creation and social media engagement across our social media platforms. The ideal candidate is comfortable using social media, enjoys creating content, and brings fresh ideas for communicating the impact of our work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with creating social media content, including posts, stories, reels, and short-form videos

  • Capture and organize photos and video content from programs and events

  • Support content scheduling and posting on Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok

  • Engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and relevant posts

  • Help identify trends, content ideas, and opportunities to increase engagement

  • Support other social media tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current post-secondary student

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and current trends

  • Experience creating content for social media is an asset

  • Strong visual storytelling skills

  • Creative, organized, proactive, and reliable

  • Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines

  • Interest in youth, education, wellness and/or community-based organizations is an asset

WAGE + COMMITMENT

  • Wage: $20/hr

  • Hours: 8-15 hours/biweekly

  • Length: 4-month contract (with possibility of extension)

  • Location: Hybrid (majority virtual, in-person at events
