Our newest initiative that provides weekly tutoring and access to knowledge and support for post-secondary education preparation.
The Run Down
The pilot program will run from March to May 2024 and is open to students in grades 9 - 12, on a first come, first serve basis.
Tutoring sessions will be led by the Rise In STEM team and post-secondary students with strong backgrounds in STEM.
Program Offerings
Math Support: Functions, Calculus
Science Support: Biology, Chemistry, Physics
Essay Support: Reviewing essays for English and Social Science courses
Workshops: Post-Secondary Preparation
The STEM Homework Help Program will consist of:
Weekly 1-on-1 math and science tutoring sessions for 5-7 students/week
Essay support will be provided for up to 5 students/week
Monthly group workshops on post-secondary preparation
Topics include: Program requirements, applying for financial resources/aid, and tools for navigating post-secondary
Light refreshments and TTC Presto bus tickets are provided at each tutoring and workshop session
