Engineering Mindset Workshop
This workshop will take place at McMaster University with Ventury Academy and will be a continuation of the previous workshop. At Engineering Day @ Mac, youth will engage in lab exercises to further explore digital literacy concepts and competencies. This day will also include a campus tour, particularly of the new Black Student Center, and an opportunity to hear from current students and learn about the many resources available in post-secondary.
Lunch and bus transportation will be provided.
This introductory workshop will introduce youth to the different pathways in engineering. Youth will have the opportunity to engage in fun exercises, a STEM-based project and develop fundamental digital literacy skills. This workshop will be in collaboration with McMaster University’s Ventury Academy.
Food and bus tokens will be provided.

Our concluding workshop will dive into the engineering mindset and ways engineers see and interact with the world. Reflecting on the knowledge gained from the previous workshops, youth will explore real-world scenarios, collaboration, and 3 problem-solving elements to understand how thinking like an engineer can be applied in everyday life experiences.
