About the opportunity: These scholarships are for Nova Scotian youth of African Descent recognized as trailblazers for contributions to their community, as demonstrated by long-term commitment to leadership as volunteers, students, athletes and/or artists. Applicants must be a high school student currently enrolled in Grade 12 maintaining a B average in their studies.

Amount: $1,000 (2 available)

Deadline: June 27, 2026

Eligibility:

  • Be a student of African descent

  • Be in Grade 12 and maintain at least a B average

  • Be active in school or community activities (e.g., sports, arts, clubs, science groups)

  • Have one school sponsor (teacher, administrator, or coach) and one community partner to provide recommendation letters
