Dr. Beverley Lee Foundation Bursary

About the opportunity: Established in 2021, the Dr. Beverley Lee bursary fund reflects her lifelong commitment to students with learning disabilities. Since its launch, it has supported more than 30 students in pursuing their post-secondary goals, helping remove financial barriers and opening doors to opportunity. LDAYS will award three (3) bursaries of $1,000 each to high school students residing in York Region and/or Simcoe County.

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: August 7th, 2026

Eligibility:

  • Candidates must reside in York Region or Simcoe County 

  • The candidate must have been a full-time high school student and graduated from high school for this academic year

  • LETTER FROM TEACHER: A reference letter from your high school teacher OR workplace needs to be provided, stating why they feel you are deserving of this award

  • PHOTOCOPY OF YOUR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA: A photocopy is required to verify that you were a high school student and have graduated in the current 2025-2026 academic year. *This must be received by the LDAYS before the presentation of this award. If not available at the time of submission, indicate so on your application.

  • PROOF OF YOUR COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION LETTER: An acceptance letter is not enough; we ask that you send the confirmation letter once you have accepted the offer from the college or university. This letter must be for the  2026-2027 academic year in a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited institution.
