RioCan and BlackNorth Initiative Bursary

About the opportunity: This bursary provides financial aid to self-identifying Black Canadian high school and post-secondary students enrolling in real estate-related fields. The RioCan and BlackNorth Initiative Bursary focuses on supporting the black community and helping to make post-secondary education ambitions a reality. 

Amount:$5,300 bursary award for university education or $2,650 for college/trades education.

Deadline: July 3rd, 2026

Eligibility:

  • The student must identify as Black (Afro-Caribbean, African Canadian, and/or racialized).

  • The student must be enrolling or enrolled at a Canadian University/College or Trades School.

  • The student must be in their final year of High School or currently enrolled in university.

  • The student must demonstrate financial need.

  • The student must be enrolled in a qualified field for commercial real estate (see bursary details).
